run for the Board yourself. Established in 1860, the NORTHERN MAINE FAIR ASSOCIATION is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation made up of over 600 members. Anyone is eligible to become a member upon payment of the $200 lifetime membership fee. The signature event held annually is the Northern Maine Agricultural Fair. The fair was first held in 1861 and will host its 166th fair in 2021. With over 25,000 in attendance each year, The Fair is the oldest and largest summer-time tradition in Northern Maine. An annual meeting with election of a Board of Trustees is held each December. The Association owns the entire 65 acre Northern Maine Fairgrounds property, with 35 buildings and a 2,000 seat grandstand. The Association leases a small parcel to the City of Presque Isle which operates THE FORUM. The Fair is allowed to use The Forum for two weeks each year during The Fair. To purchase a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, complete and return a Membership Application located on the reverse side along with a check for $200.00 for each membership. An official membership certificate will be mailed to you or the recipient per your instructions to us on the Membership Application. The Mission of the Northern Maine Agricultural Fair is to support agricultural education and entertainment in the community of northern Maine by means of exhibits, programs and activities. The Fair fosters links among businesses, organizations and people of the Northern Maine community to improve the appreciation of our rural experience and environment. This promotes a better understanding of the extraordinary and diverse history, culture, and future of Northern Maine. |
